Our Farm Journey
It started with planting 9 dahlias in the backyard. Gardening has always been a way for me to unplug from work.
We were so amazed that they grew so tall and that the flowers were so beautiful. This triggered doing research and purchasing books on how to grow and store the dahlia tubers. The next year, my whole back yard was filled with dahlias. This sparked the idea that I needed more space to grow even more flowers.
We Bought a Farm
In 2023 we found our forever home and bought a 24 acre farm in the Sumas foothills in Washington state near the Canadian border. This was the start of building the foundation of our vision.
We got Farm Animals
We started with four chickens and now we have 50+. They provide us much joy with their cute noises and in return they give us eggs. We added four beautiful Alpacas who make everyone smile when they come onto the farm and provide amazing fertilizer for our plants. During the summer, we lease some of our land to a farmer friend and host some cows.
Building a Flower Farm Business
It was time to turn the flower growing hobby into a business. Took Florets online Flower Farming course. This was one of the best investments I could have done. We dove right in to expand the variety of flowers grown so we can make bouquets. We now sell floral arrangements in the farm stand and host U-Pick flower events.
